Dale Gienow

Biography

Dale's interest in the Middle Ages goes back well over 20 years and his pursuits include the study of literature, art and martial activities of the romantic period. He is a member of the IJA-Canada, the International Jousting League, the Mounted Archery Association of the Americas and the International Armored Combat League. Dale is also an avid archer with traditional longbow and has practised the ancient art of falconry for many years. He co-founded and operates "Chivalric Productions" a medieval entertainment/education company. Dale, together with his wife and son, also owns and operates the Muskoka Wildlife Centre , a wildlife education park in Gravenhurst, Ontario.

Mount

Dale's loyal mount "Druid" has carried him through many tournaments over the last few years. Born in 1998, this beautiful Clydesdale has come a long way since he was rescued by the Gienow's in 2002.

Jody Gienow

Jody Gienow

Biography

Jody is a supporter of the joust community at large. She dabbles in period archery and falconry and enjoys crafts of antiquity, including pottery, leather tooling and costume making. In the real world, Jody is co-director of the Muskoka Wildlife Centre , T.V. host, and animal handler for the motion picture industry.

North Gienow

North Gienow

Biography

Born in 1997, North has been involved with the jousting community since the tender age of seven. Now, the proud owner of his own horse, he participates in martial mounted games, including mounted archery. He often squires for his jousting dad during tournaments and enjoys working with the family's falconry birds.

Mount

"Magdalene" is the name of this beautiful Belgian cross. At thirteen years old, she joined the Gienow's and enjoys her time with her rider and favorite person, North. She took to the games immediately and is showing great promise as a jousting mount.
