IJA-Canada Privacy Policy



Canada has enacted legislation, commonly called "PIPEDA", intended to ensure the privacy of personal information obtained during commercial transactions.

According to the government, the IJA-Canada does not carry on any commercial activities at this time.

From the government fact sheet entitled "The Application of the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act to Charitable and Non-Profit Organizations", currently found (as of this writing) at http://www.privcom.gc.ca/fs-fi/02_05_d_19_e.asp , to quote, "Collecting membership fees, organizing club activities, compiling a list of members' names and addresses, and mailing out newsletters are not considered commercial activities."

Selling membership lists is considered a commercial activity. The IJA-Canada will not ever sell our membership list. We will not even share our membership list or information contained in it, except under the following circumstances:
