Come one, come all to the IJA-Canada’s FIRST jousting tournament!
In conjunction with the Severn Bridge Fall Fair,
the Canadian chapter of the International Jousting Association
will be holding its first event, the IJA-Canada 2006 National Championships.
The Event
Friday (the 8th)
All competitors and horses must arrive and we will settle in.
Saturday (the 9th)
Skill-at-Arms competition in the morning (currently scheduled for 10:00 AM).
Joust in the afternoon (currently scheduled for 2:00 PM).
Saturday activities are OPEN TO THE PUBLIC attending the Severn Bridge Fall Fair.
Sunday (the 10th)
Bird Handling (for tournament foot crew) in the morning.
Falconry Hunt (for tournament mounted participants) in the morning.
Games (Skill-at-Arms) with a Hunt theme in the afternoon.
Feast, again with a Hunt theme, in the evening.
SUNDAY ACTIVITIES ARE PRIVATE, for tournament participants and crew only.
Monday (the 11th)
Private tour of the Muskoka Wildlife Centre
(for all tournament participants and ground crew) in the morning (9:00ish AM).
Afternoon - pack up and head home...
Board and Accommodation
For horses, stall or pasture board will be at Twin Maple Farms, Severn Bridge.
For people, primitive camping (port-a-john, no electricity) at the Gienow property in Bracebridge (a 20 minute drive from the Fair site).
Twin Maple Farms is an easy ride from both the Severn Bridge Fall Fair Grounds and the Falconry Hunt site.
Local motels and B&B’s will be recommended upon request, at your own expense.

Requirements
All attendees must be IJA members.
Membership in the Euro Jousting League (EJL) is highly encouraged.
All mounted participants must show third party liability insurance.
(For Ontario residents, OEF membership is sufficient.)

Costs
This is not a profit event; we just want to cover our costs.
Board for Joust horses is free.
Board for Skill-at-Arms and Hunt horses, is a low $30.00 (stall or pasture) for the whole event.
Bird Handling (for tournament foot crew) is free (to thank you for all your hard work).
The Mounted Hunt cost is $40.00 per participant.
The Hunt Feast cost is $25.00 per person.
(Dinner includes one pheasant per person, plus appropriate fixings.)

If you are unable to pay the entire cost now,
include your IJA-Canada membership ($12.00, if you don't already have one)
and a $20.00 deposit on the tournament ($32.00 total).
Registration
This will be a wildly fun and wildly popular event.
For that reason, and to know who we can expect, everyone must register for this event.
That includes Jousters, Skill-at-Arms participants, personal squires, field squires, everyone...
And we urge you to register early, to avoid disappointment.
Deadline for all registrations (including all foot crew and personal squires) is 15 June 2006.
If you KNOW you are bringing a squire, but don't have a name yet, please register the person anyway (as XX's squire).
Event Sanction
The Wild Hunt is:
sanctioned by the IJA-Canada,
registered with the International Jousting Association (IJA) world body, and
02 March 2006 - Event first advertised on IJA and EJL forums.
01 April 2006 - All Event Information, Rules and Registration Forms put on the web site.
01 April 2006 - IJA registration request submitted.
01 April 2006 - EJL affiliation request submitted.
01 April 2006 - Confirmed that hay is provided with stall board.
05 April 2006 - Barb Leeson will act as EJL Auditor.
(Jordan Heron will audit the Behourd.)
06 April 2006 - IJA World Body confirmed registration of the Wild Hunt 2006.
12 April 2006 - Clarification of jousting target area.
The ecranche is the legal target. (Points are awarded for direct hits; indirect hits are ignored.)
The head and below the waist are illegal targets. (Penalties are given for direct hits; indirect hits are ignored.)
The torso is a neutral area. (All hits are ignored.)
19 April 2006 - Affiliation with EJL confirmed.
25 April 2006 - French translation of main web page added.
08 May 2006 - Option for membership and $20.00 deposit on attendance.
09 June 2006 - Change in jousting rules.
Points will not be denied due to unhorsings.
Joust rules document (linked above) has been updated to reflect this change.
09 June 2006 - Post deadline extension to 31 July.
